Retractors Technical Data
Versatile & Unique
The MR1 and MR2 range of retractors offer a unique and highly valuable method of cleaning vessels, pipe work and ducting where a cleaning head can not remain in situ when the process is running. The units sit externally to the process system and extend under the power of the cleaning fluid into the appropriate section of the vessel to be cleaned when required. After performing the cleaning operation they either auto retract or can be manually retracted with compressed air, C02, Nitrogen or other gas. The wide variety of cleaning head options provides a unit that can be designed into most systems and provide full cleaning solutions.
Applications
The MR1 and MR2 units are ideal for installing into ducting and pipe work where the flow through the production system needs to remain free from obstructions. They are equally suited to be used in larger vessels where there are agitators and mixing systems which would have their mechanical action impeded by cleaning heads fitted in situ. The units are suitable for use in process systems running under a vacuum. The units are compact in design and effective in performance. They meet all the essential FDA material requirements and are also available in ATEX exempt form. This makes the units highly suitable for the pharmaceutical, biotech, food, beverage and other hygiene conscious industries.
Operation
Wash fluid enters a drive chamber causing the unit to extend into its cleaning position. The cleaning head (depending on the model chosen) then rotates and produces a fast moving spray of powerful high energy droplets providing instant coverage of the target area. The specially designed cleaning pattern ensures the high energy droplets use the minimum amount of wash fluid to deliver optimum performance. Units are usually used in pairs or multiples to ensure no blind spot areas are created.
Maintenance & Inspection
The low wear design requires minimal maintenance. Any spare parts, technical assistance or repair facilities required can be obtained through the global Breconcherry distributor network. As with all mechanical devices, it is recommended that the unit be regularly inspected for correct operation.
Minimum Manhole/Flange Size
The minimum flange connection size required for the unit will depend on the type of model chosen. Typical tri clamp flange connections of 2.5” and 3”, but custom sizes can also be supplied.

Steam/Water Mixers Technical Data
Versatile & Unique
The JET CLEANERS produce instantaneous hot water by mixing steam with water, and by boosting discharge pressure, in addition to heating the water. Chemical additives can also be mixed into the system as required. A range of models covers applications from supplying a single hand-held lance for light duty general cleaning, to single or multiple installations of large capacity tank cleaning heads.
Applications
MODEL B-JET
Drives a 2” TROLL BALL or a manually operated hand held lance. With steam supply of 3 to 7 bar the discharge pressure is boosted by up to 2.5 x steam pressure.
MODEL SB - ‘SUPER BOOSTER’
Supplies a manually hand held lance, or cleaning head (Fury TWB) with the capability to operate from low pressure steam at only 0.5 bar (up to 7 bar), boosting
discharge pressure up to 15 x steam pressure over this range. For same steam input conditions, a higher water temperature is produced by the SUPER BOOSTER
compared with the MODEl B-JET.
Model BX/BZ JET
For driving either single ‘high-flow’ capacity cleaning heads (TANKMAJOR - JUMBO 6 - Fury TWB), or multiple smaller capacity cleaning heads (TROLL BALLs - MONARC). JET CLEANERS are widely used for livery washing in the transport industry, for washing walls, floor and equipment in many factories.
Installation & Operation
JET CLEANERS may be installed for operation either by manual control, using manual steam and water shut off valves, or by remote/automatic operation, using actuated steam and water shut off valves, linked to a control unit. Automatic control also allows incorporation of features such as steam shut off if discharge temperature exceeds set level, due to reduction of water supply. An adequate water supply is essential, requiring 2 -3 bar pressure at inlet under flow conditions, for full utilisation of steam at pressure up to 9-10 bar. Performance characteristics are based on a water temperature of 15°C at inlet to the JET CLEANER. For satisfactory operation this temperature should not exceed 25°C.
New pipework should be thoroughly flushed before connecting the JET CLEANER to avoid blockages or damage to the equipment. If the overflow is piped to a closed drain, ensure that an open tun-dish or equivalent is incorporated near to the JET CLEANER to enable setting up the steam/water balance. Discharge piping may be either fixed via a flexible delivery hose. If connecting the discharge to a hose reel, ensure that a flexible link hose is used, to prevent damage to the hose reel rotary joint from loads imposed by the piping.
When using detergents or other chemicals through the JET CLEANER, the additive control valve should be closed first and the unit allowed to flush before shutting down.
Maintenance & Inspection
Worldwide comprehensive after-sales service includes spare parts, technical support and full repair facilities from the Breconcherry trained global network.
Technical Data
Above sizes refer to Jet Cleaner connections, and should be used to size steam and water inlet valves. Supply pipe sizes should also not be less than the above, and for runs of over 15 metres it is advisable to use larger pipe sizes to avoid excessive pressure losses.

Vericlean Technical Data
Versatile & Unique
The Veri-Clean validation system uses a high sensitivity magnetic sensor to detect rotational forces of a special PTFE encapsulated target linked to the Typhoon tank washer. The sensor is mounted totally externally to the tank, isolating any cleaning fluid or solvent from any electronics. All moving parts are lubricated by the cleaning fluid and the complete sensor housing is made from 316L stainless steel. All bearing materials can be either Pure PTFE for FDA or Carbon Filled PTFE for ATEX applications.
Applications
The Veri-Clean system is ideally suited to applications where an automated signal indicating that the tank cleaning device is working correctly is required. The system is designed to work with the Typhoon tank washer in the brewing, beverage, food, chemical, biotech and pharmaceutical industries. The neat, compact design makes it easy to retrofit to existing typhoon units, or simple to install as new project.
Operation
Inside the sensor housing a PTFE encapsulated magnet rotates as the cleaning head rotates. This target is detected by the external sensor. A simple positive negative pulse feed is generated. This signal can be wired into a PLC type control system, a simple signal indicator or other system. The unit can also plug directly into an AS-i ring circuit and link back to an AS-i control console.
The minimum Tri clamp connection size required for the unit is 2”.
